Frequently asked questions 

We want to ensure that your visit to Melbourne and the experience of the DevEd conference is as enjoyable as possible. The list of frequently asked questions below aims to provide you with all the information you need.

We encourage you to read through this before you attend. Please contact us at enquiries@deved.org if you have a question that has not been answered.

DevEd 2025 will be held at the State Library Victoria, 328 Swanston Street, Melbourne 3000, Australia. 

Please follow the health advice provided by Australian government. 

If you are an international attendee, please remember to: 

  • apply for your visa as soon as possible to allow for variances in Processing times .
  • consider Australia's health and character requirements, which you may have to meet as part of the visa application process. 
  • ensure you obtain a confirmation of your registration to attach to your visa application. 
  • lodge paper-based visa applications (if required) at the Australian visa office nearest to your current country of residence.

The State Library does not have on-site parking, but there is paid street parking on La Trobe Street and several pay carparks close by, including at Melbourne Central and QV. 

There are three 2-hour parking spaces for people with a disability permit in La Trobe Street. There are four 2-hour parking spaces for people with a disability permit in Little Lonsdale Street, between Swanston and Russell streets (outside the Wheeler Centre). 

There is also a single 2-hour parking space for people with a disability permit on the west side of Russell Street, north of the La Trobe Street intersection, outside RMIT Building 20. 

The State Library of Victoria is easily accessible via public transport. 

Trams: Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, 72, 30 & 35 all stop at The State Library of Victoria.  All trips taken within the CBD grid are free. 

Train: Melbourne Central station is directly opposite The State Library of Victoria. 

Bus: The nearest stops are in Lonsdale, Russell and Exhibition Streets.

Dress code is smart casual or national dress.

All attendees will be provided with a name badge, which will give you access to all sessions. Please ensure you always wear your name badge and scan QR codes through the Conference App to show attendance – this supports us in measuring session popularity. 

If you have advised of any special dietary requirements during the registration process, your preferences have been noted. A special buffet table will be set up during the day for special diets. If you are unsure, please see the staff at the Registration Desk. 

Free wireless internet access is available for the duration of the DevEd 2025 Conference. The password and login details will be provided via the Conference App and displayed at the Registration Desk. 

An attendee list will be available to view on the Conference App, once released. This is also a great opportunity to connect with others – we encourage you to update your profile and add your social media links.  

Printed attendee lists will not be available at the conference. If you selected privacy required when completing your registration form, your name will not appear on the list. 

Any changes to the conference program will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning. There will also be important alerts made via the Conference App. You may also check with staff at the Registration Desk.
